You are allowed to bring your own kayak as well, please inform us prior to your launch date so as room can be made on the kayak rack. The vessel is equipped with all CG safety and TPWD required by regulations. All trips can be tailored to your needs and wants. I have taken kids out as young as 11 and adults as mature as 87. Most trips we use artificial lures but bait can be taken if you so desire. I enjoy throwing topwaters and tails, but shrimp can be fun as well.
Kayaking The Gulf Coast
The Triple B is a 36 foot Converted Shrimp Boat, with V berth, Cabin, Cummins BT5.9 Diesel powered and large rear deck. At one time the vessel was a formidable foe to the lowly shrimp and croaker populations, but due to tighter restrictions and less shrimp licenses these type of vessels are being sold, forgotten, or abandoned. We received the vessel in November of 07, where the boat then began its transformation for a different kind of sea service. The boat is a fiberglass over wood hull, with raised midship engine location. With this in mind we have taken great lengths to make the Triple B a pleasant boat. However this is not the Queen Mary. No chandeliers, walkways, waiters, red carpets, polished brass portholes. It is however a Converted Shrimp Boat, Albeit probably the best looking Bay Shrimp boat in Aransas County. This Shallow Water Vessel is able to take 6 persons, kayaks, gear, out for a day on the water. The larger boat allows us to cross large bays of rough water with very little problem. Getting the Anglers/Kayakers to more remote areas to fish than would be possible if tied to public shore launches.
For comfort, an Air Conditioned Cabin, and fresh water wash down is a nice end to a great time on the water. This boat is, large, stable, platform. Family orientated. If you’re trying to get away from the crowds this may be the ticket you’ve been looking for.
The vessel is booked for 500$ for 4-6 persons(125-83$ per person) and included in this price is the transport to and from location via Triple B, Fishing Kayaks w/rudders, Fishing gear can be supplied but its best to bring your own, Ice, Fish bags. Bait can be arranged at market price. Sunscreen, hats, glasses, clothing food and drink are your responsibility.
Locations are chosen for tide level, weather conditions, skill level of kayakers, as well as location of fish
The boat ride takes approximately 1hr, at a speed of 7-9 Mph, we leave the dock a about an 1hr to 1hr15 before daybreak to arrive on location at just before sunrise. You and your group kayak fish the area till 1230/100pm. We load and return to dock for +-200pm. The Triple B and Capt. remain on location the whole time you and your group is out kayaking, for any emergencies, help, information, or if you just want to paddle back early to chill out in the AC
